“Perfect Curves”

Okay, and here’s another study of Eshu.  The red part in the picture is an A4 sheet of paper.  Here I worked with “perfect” curves made with a compass on black paper cuts.  I like and dislike it… can’t tell why.

Making Eshu bigger

Right now I’m trying different things over the same idea.  This is the ideogram of Eshu enlarged, with some extra information.  There is a strong presence of flames in the myth, so here they are;  and I decided to add a suggestion of penis, because without it, it wouldn’t be quite Eshu.

Estudos …

This is an ideogram originated from a yoruba myth.  The orisha involved is Eshu, and in the story, he carries a hot pot on his shoulders, which ends up becoming his head.  That’s how he finally gets his “ori”.

Estudos …

I’ve been researching concrete poetry, and because of this, my drawing is heading back to the ideogramatic design.  Also, I haven’t given up on the orishas’ case, so, two new drawings are coming up: this green one has a focus on the “ori” (head) as well as the body movement in relation to its display on the paper.
